Data controller
exploringdenmark.com acts as the data controller for any personal data collected through this website. Contact: hello@exploringdenmark.com.
Legal basis for processing
Legitimate interest: Basic analytics (page views, not personal data) to improve our guides.
Consent: When you voluntarily submit your email through our contact form.
Contract: When processing donations through our payment provider.
Data we process
Contact form submissions: Email address and message content. Stored until your inquiry is resolved, then deleted within 12 months.
Donation data: Processed by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment but do not store card details.
Analytics: Anonymized, aggregated page view data. No personal identifiers, no IP addresses, no cookies.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to: access any personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, delete your data (“right to be forgotten”), restrict processing, object to processing, and port your data to another service.

Data transfers
We do not transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA. Our hosting infrastructure is EU-based. If this changes, we will update this policy and ensure appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions) are in place.

If you believe we’ve handled your data incorrectly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.dk.
