- ECB reference rates. The converter loads the latest European Central Bank reference rates, published each working day. If they cannot load, it uses the saved rates and shows their date.
- The euro peg. Denmark keeps the krone close to a central rate of DKK 7.46038 per euro within ERM II, so the euro rate barely moves.
- Other currencies. Dollar, pound and other rates move with the euro's rate against them, so they change daily.

Why does the euro rate hardly change?
Denmark has pegged the krone to the euro since 1999 through ERM II, keeping it close to DKK 7.46038 per euro.
Will I get this rate at my bank?
No. Reference rates are mid-market. Banks, exchange offices and card providers add a margin, often 1% to 3%.
Can I pay in euros in Denmark?
Some tourist shops accept euros, but the krone is the currency, and you usually get a poor rate paying in euros.
