How it's calculated
- Official figures. Averages come from Danmarks Statistik's 2025 wage structure statistics, published in September 2026, for full-time employees.
- Like for like. The official monthly pay includes pension and bonus, so your employer's pension is added to your salary before comparing.
- Group and region. Pay differs most between regions for managers. The Capital Region pays the most in almost every group.

Why is the average higher than my contract salary?
The official figure includes pension, bonus, allowances and holiday payments. Add your employer pension and any bonus to compare fairly.
Is a below-average salary bad?
Not necessarily. Averages mix junior and senior staff. Unions publish more detailed salary statistics for members by job and experience.
Where can I find my exact job?
Danmarks Statistik publishes about 180 detailed occupations in table LONS20 at statistikbanken.dk.
