How it's calculated
- Your municipality's price. Parents pay at most 25% of the cost of a daycare place. Each municipality sets its own price.
- Sibling discount. With more than one child in daycare you pay full price for the most expensive place and half price for the others.
- Free place subsidy. Household income up to DKK 218,100 gives a full free place, between that and DKK 677,500 a partial one, and above that you pay full price. Single parents' limits are DKK 76,317 higher.

Where do I find my municipality's prices?
Every municipality publishes its daycare prices for the year on its website, usually under "takster".
Do I need to apply for the subsidy?
Yes, the free place subsidy must be applied for, usually through your municipality's digital daycare system. The sibling discount is automatic.
Is July free?
Some municipalities charge for 11 months and some for 12. Check how your municipality spreads the yearly price.
