How this works EU/EEA/Swiss citizens do not need a residence permit - they register under EU free-movement rules. For non-EU nationals, the main routes are: the Pay Limit scheme (2026 threshold about DKK 552,000/year, the most flexible work route), the Positive List for shortage occupations, the study permit (admission plus proof of funds, limited work rights), family reunification (with the 24-year rule and financial/housing tests), and Start-up Denmark for entrepreneurs.
